'Mali' is a band founded by Katarzyna Zadora, a graduate of musicotherapy at the Music Academy in Łódź. A group of children and teenagers who perform the percussion music based on the traditions of the West Africa. Established in 2012, the band has been formed by the members of the weekly drumming workshops held at the "Dom Sztuki" (The House of Art) in Ursynów. Despite its short history, the group has already achieved some spectacular successes. Members of the workshops had a chance to debut at the Ursynów District Hall on April 11th 2012 at the Memory Week, an event in the recognition of Stefan Szolc-Rogoziński, the Polish explorer of the Sub-Saharan Africa. The show met with a lot of enthusiasm from the audience. At the concert part of the event, Katarzyna Zadora performed with musicians from "Strefa Rytmu" (The Rythym Zone) in a show that presented traditional African rhythms in modern arrangements. The final effect of the workshops was the show performed by children from the beginers and the advanced groups which took place on June 17th 2012 under the slogan "Drum with all your strength!" The group also performed at the Fan Zone in Ursynów at the 34th Multicultural Warsaw Marathon on September 30th 2012. Next performance took place at the Warsaw club "Przy Lasku" during the event for children "Święto Duszków" in November 2012. A great distinction for the group was the invitation from the Centre of World Cultures Charity to perform at the finale of the international percussion festival Around the Rythm on December 1st 2012. The performance of Mali supported the shows by the biggest stars of the African percussion music.
On April 28th 2013, the group performed at the Dom Kultury Rakowiec in Warsaw at the event Artistic Sunday with Mom and Dad. A short reportage about Mali wasmade in June 2013 at the 7th Ursynów Run in Warsaw.
