The project aimed to promote Ukrainian culture among the youngest citizens of Warsaw. It involved publishing a book with three traditional Ukrainian fairy tales, in Polish and English. Artists from Ukraine and Poland carried out the project together. The illustrators were: Viktoriia Yatsura (Dlaczego zające są szare / Why Hares Are Grey) and Oksana Bagriy (Och / Oh) from Ukraine as well as Małgorzata Bajka (O dwóch koziołkach / On Two Little Goats) from Poland. The book consists of three Ukrainian folk fairy tales. Och (Oh) tells a story about an evil green old-man and has no equivalent among fairy tales from other countries. Two others bring stories about animals – hares and goats – which are personifications of the worst human traits. Their adventures and follow-ups of their actions are lessons for children what sort of behaviour is not worth proceeding.
The international group of people involved in the project made a lot of effort for the project to be carried out. They reached young Poles distributing books in children's homes as well as young immigrants from Ukraine promoting the publication at Migrant's Day event and a presentation in the Orthodox Church on Miodowa Street.
The coordinator plans to continue the project by publishing a series of books consisting of fairy tales from the countries where Warsaw's minorities come from.
