We invite you to the weekend workshop with Rui Ishihara on 12th and 13th of December. This is a workshop for introduction to Izayoi dance troupe, which was just started in this year. Izayoi dance troupe will start its regular activity from 2016. Its focus in the first year will be on constant training and research. Then, it will start creative process in addition to the basic activity. The troupe expects to present its first group piece in 2017-2018. “Every night, I put a ladder into my body and clime down it,” said Tatsumi Hijikata, the founder of Ankoku Butoh.
As you go deeper in the body, you will find universal principles; for example, the gravity, to feel the gravity, gives simple and definite discipline to the body, to its structure and to its functions, as well as it directly affects the way of being, the state of mind and heart. Emotions cause tension or relaxation in the body, and physical tension or relaxation generates emotions.
Another thing to be mentioned here is “relationship”. Relations to others, to other objects and creatures, to surroundings and to circumstances. Presence consists in relationship in/with an environment.
This workshop is meant for people who are interested in going deep into the body, into your-self, as well as for people who are interested in the activity of Izayoi Dance Troupe. The workshop will be run in English. For both experienced people and non-experienced people in physical expression or training.
