Foundation ‘Open Belarus’ is a non-governmental organization set up by Belarusians living in Poland which deals with the issues of human rights protection, development of democracy and the rule of law, system transformation and promotion of civic society. It was set up in February 2010 as an initiative to promote democratic changes in Eastern Europe and is an answer to the growing need of common actions of Central and Eastern Europe countries. The project ‘Open Belarus’ aims at providing moral and material support for Belarusians who fight for freedom and rule of law in their country. Our main goals is to shape the awareness of the situation in Belarus and motivating Poles and Europeans to support our Belarusian neighbours in their struggle for democracy.

The foundation and portal Open Belarus promotes knowledge concerning the current situation in Belarus. We inform about repressions of Belarusian resistance activists, actions of support for Belarus organized in Poland and in Europe, seminars, conferences or comments which appear in Polish and European press regarding the Belarusian situation.
