The Karaim Folk Band Dostłar (English: friends) from Warsaw has been active since 2003. At first it was called Sanduhacz (English: nightingale) and its members were Karaim young people from Poland and Lithuania. In autumn 2006 the Polish section adopted the name Dostłar.
The band performed for the first time in summer 2003 in the Vilnius region in Trakai. Later it performed at many events not only in front of Polish audiences but also during events dedicated to the folklore of national minorities living on the terrains of Poland, Lithuania and Ukraine.
The band cultivates the tradition of Karaim folklore and represents the culture and language of the ancestors by dancing, singing and stage movement.
