Every gesture and even a gaze belongs to a codificated language of meanings. A dancer becomes an incarnation of a dancing goddess. With the gestures of her hands, mudras, as well as with her face mimic a dancer tells stories. Her eyes stress every movement, bare feet step rhythms and the whole body becomes a symmetric mandala.

Bharata Natyam is a classical dance form, codificated, but choreographic arrangement to film music based on the dance are on the one hand full of smoothness but on the other - dynamic and becoming an individual interpretation of music. What is characteristic for the dance is subtle seduction, self-assured femininity and the exquisite of this dance form.

 

And Bollywood dance is a joyful dance, pure fun with the dynamism of movements. It is enough to catch a few step to have fun all the night.

 

Performing Indian dance by the group involves a few choreographic arrangements to various tempo to the music known from films like "Sometimes Happiness, Sometimes Sorrow", "I'm Here Now", "Dil Se", "Devdas". Lakhmi also improvises to live music.

 

Shows given by Alapadma group are the element of parties promoting Bollywood cinema (in Muranów Cinema) and events focused on Indian culture. Lakshmi is also a dancer performing with Masala Sound System as well as Indialucia band (Michał Czachowski's group).
