Tatiana Sopiłka graduated from Piotr Tchaikovsky Academy of Music in Kiev, dealing now with ethnomusicology. She is a member of a Ukrainian traditional music group Drevo. She also founded and manages a Warsaw based traditional Ukrainian music group Dziczka. She has traveled in Ukraine collecting original, archaic folk songs, customs and rites in the villages. The effects of the research are published as music albums in Kiev. She is especially fascinated about the folklore of East Ukraine which is famous for polyphonic lirycal songs.
She also provides traditional folk music workshops.
