The cementary was established in 1792 in time of Stanisław August Poniatowski's reign because the cementary located at the rear of the former protestant reformed church (the present Warsaw Chamber Opera) was to be removed. What's interesting is the fact that due to the lack of money, the parish couldn't employ a gravedigger untill 1804 and the miller, Beniamin Tisler, took care of the order on the cementary.
