This place used to be noisy with joyful chatter from nearby cafés and dancing clubs but today is just an dilapidating space. The passage was owned by Luciana Frassati-Gawrońska, the wife of a Polish diplomat and aristocrat as well as the daughter of ”La Stampa” daily owner. The passage hosted many famous venues such as Bodega, Café Italia or Café Milano, and a cinema.

Today Passage Italia hosts among other things the seat of Other Space Foundation which for many years has been introducing multicultural initiatives such as the Continent Warsaw Web Portal – Warsaw of Many Cultures. It happens quite often that people who come to the passage for the first time only now find out that such a wonderful place can be found so close to the Nowy Świat street.
