This orthodox church was built in Byzantine style and planed in the form of a Greek cross. It is crowned by four lesser (two of which are bell towers) and one greater onion dome. The building itself consists of two churches - the lower (Christ's Passion Chapel) and the higher ones. The church stands in the Praga district on the right bank of the Vistula River on the corner of Targowa Street and Solidarnosci Avenue. Designed in 1867 by Nikolay Sitchev and built in 1868-1869, the church is a representative example of classic Orthodox Church style. The interior is quite ornate, with a notable iconostasis and several beautiful icons.
