Hungarian Institute for Culture (WIK) was establishes 4th November 1935. The head of the Institution is István Gordon. The main aims of WIK is to provide professional information on Hungary and its culture and to cultivate friendly relations between Poland and Hungary. Besides, the employees of the Institute strive to establish a cultural, scientific and educational cooperation between Polish and Hungarian communities of musicians, artists and filmmakers.

The Institute also has run School of Adorján Divéki since 1999, which organizes twice a month classes for children from Hungarian and Polish-Hungarian families. Its activities also involve classes in Hungarian folk dances.

There is a library located in the Institute which collection consists of some 8 000 books (mainly in Hungarian), 713 films, 204 CDs and 70 CD-ROMs.
