Danish Institute was established in 1940 as a non-governmental and independent non-profit organization. The Institute is based in Copenhagen and its Warsaw department was founded in 1994. The Institute is under the patronage of Her Majesty Princess Mary of Denmark. The aim of the Institute is to enrich Danish cultural life thanks to the cultural exchange and dialogue with other countries, what involves art and other forms of cultural life as well as the way of functioning civil society. For this reason, besides organizing art exhibitions, music concerts, film reviews and soirée, Danish Institute also carries out educational and social care programmes.
Moreover, the Institute organizes events presenting Polish culture in Denmark.
