'Our folks'
It is a story about feuding families Pawlaks and Karguls. Before the war, Kargul plowed Pawlaks' acre wrong, which caused two barns to burn. This caused a fight in which Pawlak killed Kargul with a knife. After this incident, Pawlak had to emigrate to America, but this did not stop the dispute between the two families, which continues.
