Scientific Group for Mediterranean Research at University of Warsaw (Koło Śródziemnomorskie Uniwersytetu Warszawskiego) was established to integrate activities undertaken by students of the University who are interested in various aspects of Mediterranean culture.

The activities are based on two ways of interpreting the term 'Mediterranean culture' - as traditions present in European civilization derived from Antic and Bible as well as cultures of the Mediterranean countries (former and present), regardless neither their relations with ancient Greece and Roman empires, nor their religions.
