Ukrainian translator, literary critic and editor. Aleksandra is the Associate Professor of the Univeristy of Warsaw and of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Her research interests revolve mainly around literature and Ukrainian history of the 20th century as well as the Polish-Ukrainian relations.

She was honoured the Pol-Cul Foundation award for her activities for the Polish-Ukrainian agreement. She is also the winner of ''Przegląd Wschodni'' (Eastern Review) award and of the Science Award for her habilitation thesis "Farewell to the empire. Ukrainian discussion about the identity''. For many years now she has been promoting and popularizing Ukrainian literature in Poland.
