Music by Warszawa Kyiv Express could be described as a jazz voyage to the roots - the group performs ethno-jazz inspired by Polish and Ukrainian traditional music. All the compositions are originally written by the pianist of the group - Piotr Karol Sawicki and Ukrainian trumpeter - Cat Donskoj. Warszawa Kyiv Express derives the inspirations from folk music of Central-East Europe and among them are styles like kujawiak, polonaise (both Polish traditional styles of music and dance), music and songs from highlands, Kolomyjka (Ukrainian music and dance), but also influences of Caucasian lezginka could be found.
