Jewish Social & Cultural Association in Poland was founded in 1950 and is a laic organisation. It aims to appease cultural needs of Jewish community as well as to represent the community (e.g. at World and European Jewish Congress). The magazine 'Słowo Żydowskie - Dos Jidysze Wort' (Jewish Word - Dos Jidysze Wort) in Jewish and Polish languages is published. The Association has its departments in Warsaw, Wrocław, Łódź, Katowice, Bielsko-Biała, Gliwice, Żary, Wałbrzych, Częstochowa, Lublin, Szczecin, Gdańsk, Kraków, Legnica, Bytom, Dzierżoniów, Poznań.
