School of Japanese Language and Culture (SJiKJ) was established in 1992 as a part of Polska Fundacja Japonistyczna (Polish Foundation for Japanese Studies) which was founded a year earlier by employees of Zakład Japonistyki i Koreanistyki (Department for Japanese and Korean Studies) at Warsaw University.
