German Historic Institute was established in 1993. It is financed by German Ministry of Education and Research. The aims of the Institute are to carry out research on Polish-German relations, studies in comparative history of Poland and Germany and in historiography. The Institute also provides information about the issues. The employees are mediators in contacts between Polish and German scientists as well as scientific institutions in other countries.
